2k vs. powdercoat opinions/experience
« on: September 26, 2014, 07:32:52 AM »
Hi, Anybody have any opinion or experience using 2k spray paint? I'm looking to finish my frame and have narrowed down my options to 2k spray paint or powder coating. I would prefer powder coating but due to cost and shipping, I'm wondering if 2k would be better suited for me, as I'm a painter and hate paying to have anything painted.Your two cents pleased.  :)
What am I doing and why am I doing it? Those are excellent questions.

I would use something with more durability in mind and less chemical resistance. Something like Eastwood chassis black, it is extremely durable, much more so than a normal 2 part paint. It comes in aerosols, quarts and gallons too

Don't trust me alone with a claw hammer and some pliers

Isn't 2k made by Eastwood? I would go with the chassis black ceramic but I have stripped and polished my frame to a near mirror finish, so I'm looking for a clear top coat.

Eastwood sells 2k, one of the longer suppliers. They have a diamond clear system too
