Made some cork gaskets, bought a gallon of Acetone, haven't put it in yet though. Still trying to decide if I want to put screws or nuts inside to help loosen it up or just let it soak by itself for a couple days on each side and see what that does.

I am personally not a fan of adding screws. Those are best to use when de-rusting the tank not removing a liner. Soaking should be all that's necessary to get the liner loose.

Well day 2 of soaking in Acetone I learned that it also dissolves 2 part epoxy. Those two patches on the underside are now separating from the metal and leaking out. Now I have a tank with rust, liner failing and 2 holes at the bottom. Wonderful.

Sent the tank to calj737 he's going to refurbish it and I'll put a new petcock and paint or powdercoat it when I get it back. Now onto my carburetor issues!

It's a stock metal tank. I didn't mention that person I don't believe. I don't know who that is.

Good question. Who is Benji?!
