I know someone that will be a tad "grumpy" if you put a dent in that tank with those bars. Just saying...

Lol I hear ya man. I debated these and the clip ons and ended up with these. I see there's a lot of people that frown on these. Is that why? Is there a way to adjust them without hitting with stock controls?

You might be able to modify the steering stop on the bottom of the triple tree to reduce the overall turning radius. Clip ons and clubmans both tend to hit the tank

I definitely fit in the "newbie" category with these bikes. As you already know my previous bikes were Harleys. I'm going down that familiar path of learning as I go.

Yea I can't wait to see how it comes out. I'm really liking it. That gasket came in so I'll be fiddling with that and the bars this weekend. Won't be too much longer I'll be able to put some gas in the tank and fire it up again to sync the carbs.

Nice work! The bike is coming together nicely. I have modded the steering stop on all my bikes. Easily done and you don't have to worry about the bar to tank dents.

I don't really see the point of those bars, unless its for the "look", without also fitting rear sets. I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am, but wouldn't it be placing a lot of extra weight on the forearms and wrists?

It's a vinyl stripe and I'll clear over it

Current pics of the bike. I finished up the handle bar swap. Not sure how everyone says they hit the tank. I can turn them full lock both ways and don't come close to hitting the tank. That's good news but the bad news is I just noticed my upper triple tree is cracked. Not sure when it happened but I'm pretty sure it's when I removed and reinstalled the forks. So now I gotta change that out. Opinions on what to swap it out with?

Do you have spacers in the upper clamp? Guessing no and you over tightened, a common mistake.
