cb550 mono shock conversion help short shock needed
« on: October 30, 2014, 05:26:08 AM »
In the process of building another cb550 and ive decided to convert it to mono shook or twin shocks in a mono shock position. Anyone recommend what mono shock or pair of shocks from a bike to use. Space is limited also i would prefer an overall length of around 200/250mm\

I was toying with an idea using NT650 Nighthawk swingarm.  Aluminum monoshock but maybe too long for you.

Easiest way is to search modern bike replacement shocks (mono units) for an appropriate shock. In addition to length, you need to know travel and weight. I'd contact YSS and give them that info, they'll be able to direct you.

I'd focus on <600cc monoshock models. CBR600, Ninja, GSXR, R6. Or, call YSS and ask them to search it for you.
