Topic: Missed a 82 Honda CBX 1100 for $600

Ran across this listing on CL when I got home from work yesterday. No picture but owner said it had been parked for 15 years and would need considerable work to get it back on the road, but ran great when parked and by the map location it was only about 20 min. from my house. But he emailed me back and said bike had been sold earlier in the day I didn't ask anymore questions since bike was gone but of course Im suspect on the $600 price (maybe a misprint) or maybe just didn't know what he had, thats hard to believe in this day and time though. And when seller said it needed considerable work maybe he meant a complete rebuild from top to bottom. Hope it went to a good home

I saw a '79 on CL down here last night and went and looked at it this morning.  I wondered how it lasted 3 days on CL @ $1300 but now I know.  Mufflers have rust holes and the head pipes are rusty too.  It didn't seem to want to click into gear either.  I even tried rolling it and shifting... no "clicks."  It would need a lot of work but did seem like most of it was there.  Inside of the tank filthy too.  I had every intention of buying it before I went but it will need some serious attention (and $$$ invested).  I don't have time right now.  The guy told me someone was coming from Miami to look at it this weekend

Being listed at $600 if I had to guess I would say this CBX was in a sad state as well and will require a lot of time and money. Hopefully the new owner has both of these and can bring this bike back to it's glory
