Minimal wiring, Neutral Safety 75 CB550
« on: September 24, 2014, 04:30:14 AM »
I have minimal wiring harness in place but it doesn't have a safety feature incorporated.
I have a LED wired with a resistor as neutral light with positive being keyed ignition (black) and the ground being the neutral switch.
I am wondering if I can wire my starter button ground in addition to the LED+resistor ground straight to the neutral switch.
When in neutral the switch will ground, works great with a LED and resistor but if I add the starter button will I need a diode to protect the LED/harness or will the resistor suffice?

Edit: I am going to try hooking my neutral light LED +resistor ground and starter button ground directly to the neutral switch without a diode and hope it doesn't fry anything, if you know if this will cause problems please let me know. Will update post with results.
