500-550 Alloy swingarms
« on: September 25, 2014, 05:38:10 PM »
For anyone thats interested, MotoGPwerks are thinking about making Aluminum swingarms for the 500-550, if you are interested then pop over to their facebook page and let him know or ring them on +1 714-223-0111...  If he doesn't make these you are missing out on a great part...  The+1 may be for international callers...

That is a beauty of piece! It would be nice if hither were a domestic source for a boxed 550 swing arm...

Although, I'd love for him to make more exhausts  ;D I think some very sexy 2:1 systems could be hot sellers!

Yes, alloy Steve, Calfab replica   ;), Was talking to Chris a couple of weeks back and he offered me a deal i couldn't refuse, saw that article recently, saw another similar one as well, i'll post the link if i can find it... ;)

The reason I posted this is to see if anyone is interested in these alloy arms, Chris is only "thinking" about making them for the 500-550, so if you are interested say so here and i'll send the link to Chris... ;)

So, did the motogpwerks acquired pipes bender shop like it was mentioned somewhere in this forum, or he has a very close relationship with the pipe bender shop?

I don't have any pics of the finished Honda swingarms but here is a couple of pics of a new Calfab swingarms, they are made from modern extrusions and are stronger than the original Calfab arms, they are also ceramic ball shot peened, heat treated and all up they go through 5 different treatments before they are ready for sale..

I don't know Steve, it will be bling for most i suppose, but in terms of what it is, its better than a stock arm..  As far as Aluminum aftermarket arms go its the cheapest one i've seen so far, the ones coming out of Japan are stupid expensive...

Roughly same price as TTR400 arm, but no international shipping, and to take nothing away from Kevin, this unit does appear to be much better performance.

I've rarely ridden my 550 this year, it's been stored away for the last 2 months.  I do want a MotoGP ss pipe for it though.

I like the curvey arms in the last pic, better than the CB750 type.
So if you want a 2 over for 69-76 750.. I guess you can order the. 550 arm..

The 750 Arms being made are 20mm over stock. I think Chris has some type of suspension generating program, you put all the geometry in and it gives you recommended sizes for the swingarms..... I'm sure I read that somewhere recently.. Those swingers you like are for a Triumph, not sure which model..

If you are wondering why these arms cost $650 just look at the quality of the work, this is the new Triumph arms...
