A single layer riding jacket is nothing but a series of compromises. Any jacket that does not come with a liner is either too loose when not wearing an under layer, or too snug when wearing an under layer. You gotta pick a side and fight the fight, so to speak.
My recommendation is to buy a new, ultra thin modern thermal layer designed to be worn under jackets. They perform better than cotton hoodies (you planning to stuff that under your helmet?) and are thinner too. A hoodie is a poor choice for a thermal layer as the hood collects air while riding and blows it straight down your back. Defeats the whole thermal benefit thing...
Duuuude! it's all about the look! All cafe hipsters have to have leather over hoodies or it aint cool.
+1
fukc comfort and safety. ya gotta look good
Seriously. A thin wicking layer next to your skin, like underarmor. Then a thermal long sleeve under your jacket.
Way warmer than a hoodie. Not many things worse than riding cold, wet, or both
have both of these items on when trying on jackets. unless you can drop LBS overnight, you can always wear a hot oversized jacket in the summer without layers. its more difficult to wear a small jacket you cant get layers under in cold weather....
