New Tappet cover Wrench

 I designed this after hearing of, broken and rounded off tappet covers.

 I felt that if was installed with a shorter wrench, less likely to overtorque the nuts.
Take a look, see what you think.

What would make that wrench THE bomb is if it had the oil filter wrench on the other end. 2 birds, 1 wrench!

Forget the oil filter wrench. Put a half circle on the other end to open up my beers. Nice work Frank.

Very nice. I've always just used my stubby handle 3/8" drive ratchet but even then It's possible to crank down too hard.

I think all of the above! Tappet cover, oil filter, and beer opener. I like multi-use tools. Nice looking finish on it too frank.

It also appears you rotated the HEX slightly so you can flip it over and get a 1/2 flat more travel. I was going to suggest that but when I checked, it was already there. Nice!

Great Idea..............the other end could be a hex to fit on the plug-wrench.........similar torque.

It's made out of 6061 aluminum, so use on a steel nut is out, so is bottle opener.
The problem with most sockets. And wrenches is the leading taper to find its way on the bolt easier. This can be up to 2 mm on some tools...this has none.
The hex on the tappet cover is only about 5mm long so losing a mm or two means very little engagement.

good tool frank,you sure you cant get it to open beers?the lead in ramp on sockets can round the caps off easily especially with 12 point types,just get a cheap six point and grind it away so you have a nice square engagement.

If it will open beers, I'm in.  My Craftsman multi point wrench gives me no issues getting the covers off. But not good to open beer bottles!

I never found a wrench that fits nice.
 When you try this, with the nice tight fit, and featherweight,  you won't go back to your steel one.
