Some leftovers? CB750 K1
« on: September 26, 2014, 08:49:43 PM »
I got some leftovers after the engine build was finished. It's from an Athena kit so maybe they have extra gaskets for different models?

Also have one large flat black round gasket and one very small oil seal?

I have not put the sump gasket on yet because I need to prime the oil pump before starting the bike for the first time. Does anyone recognise any of them off models that are not K1?

I'm sure some bright fellow will come along and name them all :)

The only one I'm reasonably sure of is the flat round one, and I'd hazard a guess at points cover. If you're happy that you've got gaskets everywhere gaskets should be, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd have to get to the bottom of where that little oil seal goes though.

Thanks Oldschoolnuts. It was the points cover gasket.

I am worried about the oil seal as well.

Just thinking off the top of my head - the oil seal. Tach drive in cam cover?

Now for the life of me I don't know if I did or didn't. I remember taking it out and cleaning when I did the cover. Will check tomorrow morning when I have light again. That would just leave some gaskets if that's missing.

Yep tach seal. Fits inside the cover from the outside, meaning first the seal then the tach cable. Not hard to replace !   ...cougar...

I know that in my Athena kit they supplied gaskets for the Hondamatic as well as my model. So I ended up with a whole bunch of extras.

Thanks Abby Rider. I didn't think of going over my purchase history from 2012 in ebay. The description for the gasket kit said that it did the K series plus the F1 and F2. So this must be the extra. I wouldn't imagine that there would be a major difference in gaskets throught the K's. It didn't say anything about the Hondamatic.
