cb750 rear shocks verses gl1000 rear shocks
« on: September 29, 2014, 09:23:19 PM »
are gl1000 rear shocks stiffer than regular cb750 shocks?  the reason why i ask is because i noticed that it seems like there are 2 springs on it.

I'm not sure but the smaller spring is a softer one, once it compresses, the big one takes over. Progressive rates.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

They are much stiffer: the CB750 spring rate is about 110 lbs/in travel. The 'Wing weighs about 220 lbs more (empty), so it will have correspondingly stiffer springs. The guys over at NakedWings.com can tell you what spring rate they are, if you know the model of the bike.
