Daytona Electronic Ignition rotor sticking
« on: September 30, 2014, 11:14:50 PM »
I ended up with a Daytona electronic ignition. When I put the rotor supplied in the kit on the spark advancer it's a bit sticky and doesn't allow the arms to return. Is this normal or not. If it's not is it a common problem and common fix?

I sprayed with some white lithium grease used for gears metal on metal and that didn't fix.

My apologies. Problem fixed. Just a bit of 800 paper inside the rotor. Job done

I have never seen a "Daytona" ignition. I first read the title as "Dyna" and then realized you were talking about something different. Can you post some pictures of the pickups too?

Not sure what you mean by pickups but here is a pick of the whole kit.

What's in the pic is what's in the kit. No splicing into other wires it just plugs into the bullet connectors of the rear brake switch. Use stock coils. Has a red LED light on the plate that you can see that lights up when you are setting the plate in the correct position so no need to use a test light. Heaps quick and simple to set up that you won't believe.

How good they are? I'm not sure .i have only heard of good reports but I am sure there are bad ones as well just like the Dyna. I've had a Dyna on my GL1000 for 18 months and have not faulted it. But I could not resist trying this unit out.

David Silvers and 4into1 both sell this unit but not necessarily under its brand name.
