Haven't really looked at the gearing calculator. I think Jon Weeks is our local expert and might have the quarter junior software to help with gearing.

Let me ask this,is there a sweet spot so to speak where you want to be in high gear before you get to the finish line?

You would never use a calculator or guessing to come up with gearing when drag racing. Track time, trial and error to get the best 60 foot times are the only way. No amount of calculating will do this.

On my big turbo Kawasaki's, the best 60's are reached with gearing so high that would only have us using 4 of the 5 gears. In drag racing you first focus on 60 foot times, once they are optimized everything will fall into place.

The "sweet spot" is the RPM where your motor makes it's peak HP, best determined with a dyno test.

Or like most folks buy 20 gear sets and go to a track rental = want some KZ GEARS got stack of them................. TURBO-D is right on about 60' times, ask a PRO-STOCK NHRA RACER.

Anything you gain in 60' will be double at the other end. I'd think someone would have a starting guess though.

dusterdude: MOST TIMES down one on the front and up two-three on the rear.  Shift light should be glowing in your face in highest gear at 1320'.
