testing coils
« on: October 04, 2014, 06:21:50 PM »
How do I test the coils on my 77 750K. I developed a misfire sometimes, like today again. Only when warm, and Motor idles great. just a misfire on acceleration or cruising.

Check yellow or blue to black/white, that is low side. Around 5 ohms
Probe spark plug wire to spark plug wire, this is higher measurement, 15k ohms or higher I think. The important part is that it doesn't measure as broken or 1 on the meter

Edit
Fixed ohms, missed it

Oops.  That's 5Ω,  Not 5000 Ω.

That'll work!
