Is this an OEM CB750 pilot jet,or aftermarket?
« on: October 07, 2014, 10:21:04 AM »
Hey folks,
Below is a picture of of one of the #40 pilot jets I pulled from my 064A carbs.
It has fewer holes than any OEM pilot I've seen for other Cb750s.   Yet, its got the Keihin logo stamped on it.
So, is this OEM or aftermarket? I suspect it's not correct and have a standard set of OEM pilots, but I'm curious if this is maybe a part specific to these later f0/f1 carbs?

Thanks

I'd bet on OEM.  I can't say which Keihin carbs they came from, though.

The smaller holes in the emulsion tube, ought to make the pilot circuit a little richer than the ones you are comparing to, for the same setting of the pilot screw.

Thanks for the response, Two-tired. I was under the impression this pilot would make that circuit richer, which you confirmed.
The carbs are on a stock K4, and I just put 71-76K emulsion tubes, needles and needle jets into the carbs.  I think I'm going to use the standard OE pilots with more holes, since the rest of the carb is set up like a K model.
