Heffay, thanks for the post.  It reminded me of the line from Hot Rod Lincoln, "The lines on the road looked just like dots."

Excellent video!  Can't imagine going that fast for the 20 minutes it takes just to do one lap, much less the whole race.  The sense of speed must be enhanced with the narrow roads and houses whizzing by.  Just plain crazy/dangerous/fun.

Hey Groovie, Ive done Mad Sunday at the Isle of Man riding a CB750F2 (stock) and thought i was going fast at 100+mph on the mountain section when a sports bike sails past me like I was standing still  :o. Its a great experience.

cheers

That's awesome!  I think the vid had to be sped up a little- I mean, it didn't look humanly possible to go that fast!  Even when the dude's lap is over and he's cruising through the pits, he looks like he is going uncomfortably fast!  (Although, it does look like a guy came over and told him to slow down)

Anyways, it looks super cool, but ultimately it looked mega scary- not much margin for error at those speeds!

you'd be surprised what things look like (or fail to look like anymore) at over 150mph.  i was thinking it could be a bit sped up at first but, popping the rev limiter in 6th on a 1000 cc bike REPEATEDLY means that you are going a sickeningly fast speed.  Then, i also tried to keep in mind that he was passing guys right and left that looked fairly seasoned and leaned hard into corners.

I just realized, part of it is probably just me being bitter- I guarantee I'd be one of the dudes getting passed like I was standing still! :)
