74 CB 550 Center Stand
« on: October 08, 2014, 08:50:20 AM »
Ok, so I want to put my ride up on a center stand this winter and bought a used one. It came complete with the kidney shaped plate, spring, bolt 'axle' and cotter pin.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to install the $%^$&^ thing.

I got the axle and stand in place, found (thanks to the '08 thread on center stand installation) the stud for the kidney plate but am stumped after that!   :-[

There was another thread but the pics are gone...

Any guidance and pics would be appreciated!

Peter

The easier way is to remove swingarm and wheel, which is very long way.

On the other hand, install everything in, and play with the spring last.  People have used pennies and in between spring coils to stretch it out.  I have used large screw driver as leverage to stretch the spring. Hope this help

That little piece goes on the right side bolt. It's for routing your battery drain tube.
