Relaxed riding, 3000-5500. Having fun on twisties, 5500-8500. I try not to rev it higher but it wants to keep pulling and have hit 9500 a time or two. Next time I have cause to have the motor out I think I'll be changing to heavier valve springs since this engine likes to rev. Figure it's cheap insurance to keep from bending a valve. I know the rods are a weakness at high RPM but I don't think it's a problem until 9k-10k and up. Without other motor work to support that kind of RPM I don't think it feels very natural to stay at throw a rod revs as power tapers off.
You won't hurt your engine taking it to redline, but if you spend a lot of time above 6k I'd go through the oil pump and replace the seal and orings on the pump and other oil passage locations to be sure you have maximum oil flow. I'm OCD about that stuff, but my engine is fresh and I've done all that so I flog it pretty good when the mood strikes me.
