I'm looking on the search on another forum right now but haven't seen it yet even though I subscribed to it a month ago;it's real cheap,you just pay the tax for the 'sale' to you from your 'seller'.I'm living proof it Does work and it Is Legit,you just need to be sure the bike isn't stolen.

At first glance, it appears one needs a title, which I don't have.

Utah is also really easy. If you have a friend or contact there, they can register with a VIN, bill of sale, and a picture of the bike (DMV will check to see if its stolen). Then just have them sign the new UT title and send it to you, and you register the bike in your home state. 

I've done this before. It works.

Just a Bill of Sale was all I needed;that's how I registered my 'outside the State of VT.' CB350K4 parts frame.They sent me my VT. registration w/ a VT. green plate  and all I needed to do was apply for a PA. title w/ my out of state 'registered in VT.' papers. I did that and have my PA. title and reg. The best part is you don't need to live in VT.  You do need to send them a Bill of Sale w/ a decent amount of $ for sales  tax (how you get it is your business) and fill out their registration form along w/ $.

I see that now. Down at the bottom. Stilil, Intl Title gets first go depending on price.

I also went the Vermont route rather than the nightmare of missing title process here in PA. Very simple process with Vermont and very reasonable fees. They don't title bikes over 10 yrs old. so only fee for reg. I just ride on the Vermont plate & reg. Never been stopped.

Subscribed.......Anyone in Missouri done this thru Vermont?? If so, did Missouri accept it? I was going to go the ITS route, but decided against it. Heard negative stuff.
The bad thing about title issues is, that each state handles these issues differently,
so what works in one state doesn't necessarily work in another.

I'm in Indiana. What I want to end up with is an IN title and registration. I'll check out ITS and weigh the costs against my time. Thanks.

VA is pretty easy as well.  I use the abandoned vehicle clause to get titles.  It is relatively cheap as well.  $25 for a VIN search and ~ $45 for the title.  It does take about two months to go through the process, but it is easy.

MC, you can still end up with an IN title & reg by presenting the Vermont reg to DMV and explain that Vermont does not title bikes over 10 yrs old. They can verify that on the Vermont website. Then they can issue an IN title & reg without the expense of a title search company. If I recall correctly for Vermont, it was about 3 wks and I had the reg.

A bike that is registered is registered, plain and simple. It doesn't matter what your state issues AFTER registration, all that matters is you have whatever legal registration papers you need from the other state.

If buying from a bill of sale only state then there you go, done deal. Just because your state doesn't accept in state transactions like that doesn't mean your legal out of state transaction is invalidated

Pardon me, but I don't get it. You still don't have a title so how can you sell it?
