Just a heads up on Yamiya switches.
About 6 months ago I bought both new handlebar switches from them, they were about $130 for both and are supposed to be TEC brand Well today both L and R indicators started becoming intermittent, soon after the L side would not work at all and the right was iffy. I put my original re-coed 40 year old Left one back on and got the added bonus of having my passing light sw ( K2 ) back into service, I had missed it as these Yamiya's are K1 switches.
I don't ride at night usually so the headlight switch Hi and Low are still good but I can only assume they would go if used like the indicators.  Very disappointing, be war ned.

That sucks, $130 isnt chump change (for some anyways), I would have expected them to be a far better product at that price.

Nic, I would email them and let them Know, most of their products are pretty good and their service is good as well, can't hurt to try...

I've just checked my account, I bought the switches in Jan 2014, they were on special. It was $127 for both with shipping to Oz.
They have 4 different left ones available, they all look the same except the 2 expensive ones have "made in japan" on the bottom of them and the one I bought has nothing.
Mine only cost $32.87 AUD back then, it is now $41.74'
One costs $81
One costs $208 and the other is $521
So I obviously bought a cheap crap one even though it says Tec on the horn button.

For what I paid I reckon I'll just cop it n move on and besides, I'm not wanting to go back to not have my pass button for the Hi beam which they don't sell.
I guess you need to buy the $500 one if you expect some longevity

ill find a link nic for motoretro parts,hes in nsw and a good bloke,ive been to his old place a few times but now hes moved further south,he has as #$%* load of jap nos,i bought a genuine 500 left hand unit for like 95 bucks,its the one that predated mine less the passing crap button,on the 500 the pass and horn were the same knob and always #$%*ed up and youd toot the horn or flash the high beam when you wanted to do the other,ive never liked that passing flash feature I think its an aggressive European habit?

Thanks for the link Dave, the K2 750 left switch has the same horn and pass in one button, I never had a problem myself and I do like having the passing button but I certainly can live without it.
I bought the new switches from Yamiya because they were on special and cheap so I figured why not. I had already pulled the original ones apart and cleaned and lubed them and resoldered the odd wire, they both work perfectly but the indicator lever does have a little slack due to the plastic tab being worn that the lever goes over.
I'll ring the guy n see how I got but it's not a rush job.

my right hand headlight switch has "P""L" then"H"not too hard to flash to "H"and back if you need to?

my car has the floor mounted stamp switch for high beam!ill bet not many youngens know about them?probably snap the indicator stick off trying to flash?

That's what I have in my Jeep.  It needs replacing every 5 years or so, always fun when you step on it and lights go dark

Old Opels in Europe had a floor switch for wipers, did not see that on any other car.

I had an old vauxhaul with a hole in the floor,we used it for throwing empty beer cans out!

my old opel stasioncar have that tramp buttom. thorght it vas for light??.and airintake vas a big handel..vho opend the front under vindscreen...and sprinter for vindows vas a rubber duck..to clamp the food on..and sqveeese it to vash the vindow..it just have that smell of old germen car..like a  1200 folkswagen..vhy did ve kids smash that car in the fields...and that bmw bubbel car..hvere the front vas both vindov and door..ve vas baad kids

All of my early cars had floor mounted switches. I could put Halogen lights on them no problem. When they went to those pussy stalks, I need relays.

The first car I had with the column switch pissed me off to the extent that I went to the wreckers and got an old Holden stomper and wired it up on the floor. When you're driving at night it's a PITA to have to dim with the column lever, you don't always have your hand ready, with the foot switch it's just too easy. Maybe I could hook one up to the bike
