getting bolt sizes
« on: October 13, 2014, 07:49:56 PM »
I have a basket case CB750..long term project to get it back on the road.
Can you get fasteners and bolt measurements from somewhere?
I'm missing a slew of stuff and ordering bit by bit from parts sites will kill me in shipping.

ebay sells kits

search cb750 bolt kits

vintagecb750.com (free shipping on orders over $150, so make a list)  (or cb750supply.com, free shipping over $100) has a slew of stuff you could prob use, search bolt(s) and you can order packs of a variety of hex head bolts and an array of fasteners, washers, etc

i always thought those two sites are the same guy, since the sites are designed very much alike, but they apparently ship from different locations.  i dunno tho.

I thought the sites were related, too, because they are so similar.  They may just use the same web design.

I guess what I'm wondering is if you can get the length of bolts from their part numbers, or maybe the Honda factory manual so I can just go to a fastener place and buy them there?

They may he listed by length in partsbook.
But.. Should be someone with takeoffs on here.., make a list.
Can get good grabbag deals on ebay sometimes.

I would stick to factory fasteners , for most of it , if you can get them.

The cheapest is to take all your nuts and bolts etc.  and have them rezinced, I believe Honda's hardware is better than the soft Chinese rubbish sold today.

Here's mine after zincing, was very pleased by and large, if some were no good I replaced them.

Here's the brake stay

754 you're correct, however the way it reads I took it that the 750 was a basket case meaning he still had the old nuts and bolts and he had most of the old parts in the basket.
