Topic: What's painted vs. polished on a 350F motor?

So I'm painting my 350 motor and the valve cover and the breather cover above that look like total garbage. I can't figure out if they were originally painted or bare aluminum. These same parts on my 750 were polished aluminum. The 350 breather cover seems to be polished, but the valve cover I think might be painted. Any one know?

Good to know. My breather cover is so incredibly pitted but a useable one on eBay was only $13 delivered. I'll paint it.
