1977 CB400F Camshaft
« on: October 16, 2014, 02:44:28 PM »
Hi,

Need some help. Bought a late 77 CB400F which had an engine rebuild. However, the numpty who carried out the work must have got the head sandblasted but hadn't got all the sand out and it has wrecked the cam/head/rocker cover.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good 2nd hand camshaft.

Ta

Thanks for the replies. One quick question: i've noticed on the ebay itmes the cams are marked with R2 or R4 or R9, do this matter????. My damaged cam is marked with R6 ???

Casting ID only means nothing mate. Have you got a replacement head and cover?
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
