mechanics in Alberta that understand these bikes?
« on: October 17, 2014, 07:23:55 PM »
I wouldn't mind pricing out some work, are there any mechanics that understand classic Hondas in Alberta? Anyone know a good shop?
Also looking for parts, so if there are any good shops or yards that might have something available, I'm interested in that.

North of Edmonton (by Athabasca) so I'd prefer something in the greater Edmonton area.

Hey it's been a while since you've had this out there but the guys at Heartcore Motorcycles are pretty good. Not Hondas specifically but they work on and ride old machines. If you're looking for parts, Edmonton Cycles and Salvage has a ton of stuff but it's all in piles. Lots o digging. Gil is a pain to deal with and expensive sometimes but he knows a ton and has some odd parts. Recycle Motorcycle Salvage in Stony Plain is the only other salvage shop around. They're stuff is really well organized and they can tell you if they've got a part or not.

Took the bike to Heartcore a week ago to undo some of my amateurish work.
Haven't heart back yet, but hey, it's thirty below, so I'm not in a real hurry.

"Thirty below" what? Rideable weather, zero degrees C or F? Where I live, never heard of such nonsense  :D You gotta move out of the Arctic and into the land of the living where riding weather is longer than a four-day weekend....

Brrrrrr!

At -30 I'm not sure it matters if we're talking about Celsius or Farenheit. ;)

Just wanted to say that Heatcore was really easy to work with, knew the bike, and that the billing was reasonably affordable. All in all probably a good place to take these bikes.

Great to hear! I'd heard the same from a friend and why I'd suggested it. Whereabouts you at? Must be close to E-town then :)

About 150 km north of there, just outside Athabasca.
