This little F'er thread is killing me!  I got 3 CB750s ahead of my 2 little F'ers.  Can't wait to play around with them.  They are suck cool little bikes.

Jo3f1sh,
Pretty sweet little F'er you have there.
The shorter front fender and the straighter bars suit it well.
Love the sound of the 4 into 2 pipes!

Nice and clean, don't see many that nice anymore!

I'm so glad I asked to see some, it's a lil F'er inspiration thread.

I kinda wish I hadn't bought the cb900, now there's a red non runner 400 for sale within driving distance. It's always something.

Hey, Paul: we did those 4-2 pipes come from? Mine are a disaster, one of the biggest things that is keeping it silent nowadays. One of mine is falling apart from the rust, the other is just so ugly that I am embarrassed to show my Baby Four daylight. :(

My Ebay rear fender came today, USPS on Sunday, the ad said 350 and 400, I hope that's right. Anyway for the price I was happy to chance it because if it's 350 only someone here will need it. I wire brushed the back and noticed a real old can of Ziebart rust proofing on the shelf so I coated the back. It seems to be clear, I was hoping for black. \
The top side is nearly flawless, just some visible spot welds that were factory.

I've seen pictures of 400F's with dual discs, I'm wondering which forks were used to accomplish this?

I vaguely remember seeing one that had Marzocchi forks,   that would be quite a pricey upgrade though...Larry

I agree, that 400 is sweet. Sometimes the creative side must be satisfied though.

a CX500 can make a very sharp looking "cafe" style bike.  Terry in Oz did one and there was another forum member a couple years ago who did two(one for himself and one for his sister) , cannot remember his avatar.   Guzzi looking when done...Larry

I'm sure that's a common response by a lot of people concerning a CX500, especially on this site.  But, done correctly, they can be really cool, especially the one I'm considering.  It's a '79 Standard model that only has about 15K on the clock.  It's in great shape with a Magni frame mount fairing and custom seat and tail section, clip ons, new exhaust, shocks, tires and more.  It's also had the factory cam chain adjuster mod already performed. The CX's are gaining more and more respect as time goes on, and this one would be a great project to finish.  Selling the 400F would be sad, for sure, but I have 7 bikes and I'm out of storage space for them all.  One has to go to make room for the next bike.  I'm clearly torn as to which one.  The 400F is uber cool but it's such a tiny bike, physically. The CX would be a better all around rider.  Letting go of my 550F, the Wes Cooley GS1000S, and the CX500 Turbo aren't even on the table.  Decisions, decisions..

AVON AM26's for tires.  same as nvr2old has on his blue 400F above.
My 350F was a completely different (better) bike once I put them on.

My tank is off to paint. I pulled most of the dents out with hot glue and toilet bolts first, I went back with the red. I like the roadriders too, I'll be mounting them myself.

I canned the stock huge turn signals for 750 K0 style rears and slightly newer front ones mounted through the headlight mount. The original large front mount tube wasn't perfectly straight so I chopped it off.  I bought a nice rear fender and a DSS repro front but am considering chopping and painting the old front and rear fenders to match the red tank and adding white stripes. Film at 11.
