I've been looking around for 400F info, I just bought two and could use some ideas and pics of some nice ones. I wondered if we could keep a small sohc4 thread going?

Red sort of, my phone won't cooperate so I'll get one with the camera.
If my wife decides to ride it will go back to stock, if I build it for me, it wants the proper low bars, sulphur yellow on a 350F tank with 400 decals and a honda tank stripe of some sort. I'm not big on the giant signals, stock seat cut down in front or a cafe style seat. no welding or cutting however. I read they're really 488cc? Maybe one off 488 logos. maybe a cafe style taillight.

I searched but the result was overwhelming. Thanks I'll check it out. I was going to put some skin so soft on the seat but I spilled it all over. So I rubbed it in tank and everything. Really shines it up and boy does the shop smell nice!

No, not really slippery at all. You need to let it sit for a while. I put it on the old hard sandcast seat twice last year and once this year, it soaks in. Now it feels like new, a year later it still hasn't cracked or anything. I was putting Ice brand wax on my car trailer recently there is a small hole in the bottle so it squirts out. Not so much with the skin so soft, it went glug glug. Mosquitos won't bite your bike either.

I knew about its use as an insect repellent. Learned of it in FL to prevent the chiggers (sand fleas?) from digging in.

Its a good trick. Safe for vinyl or leather? Or just on the vinyl?

Not sure, I use lexol on leather. It however, smells like the inside of a cow. I might try the skin so soft on something leather and not precious. I'll bet there is an old purse in the closet no one will miss. Maybe my old boots, they could smell better too.

Nice one, that's what I'm talking about. I'm wondering about tucking a taillight under the back of the seat since there's a space there. maybe a license plate mount with strip led's around it. yellow turn signals on both sides of the plate and red on top.

Who's muffler is that thirsty, Cone?

How many miles are on it ? Those 6 speed trannies were a little ahead of their time, think the little Suzuki 250 Hustler smokers had them also.

There was a suzuki X6, I think it was a 6 speed, the first motorcycle I ever got a ride on.

Before last winter it had 35,500 miles. as of now after last winter it has about 500 on it. It runs perfect!

A guy on facebook posted a pic of the Blue one he's taking apart to cafe. I offered to buy his takeoff parts. No reply yet.

Here is my restored CB400f, I did a nut and bolt rebuild and finished about six weeks ago, great bikes to restore and easy to find parts both new old stock and repro parts, and fun to ride.
I found the best prices for parts by shopping on the internet, and I have kept all the supplers names if you want any help with any thig just ask.

Yes, the X6 was a two stroke twin with a six speed, I had one (wish I still did)

Gorgeous bike Chris! After doing my 750 I'm thinking I'd like to do a 400f. Thought 350 but I've heard sourcing parts can be difficult. Thinking it would be more fun to ride the baby SOHC4 fast than ride my 750 slow.

The most common big bore kit is the 466. I've never seen a 488, but I have heard of conversions with a 500 piston, but they are rare.

I believe the 488 number was a typo, it was refering to stock CC's.I'm glad to hear parts are out there. My initial search was disappointing. DSS has a lot of parts though.

CB/CL360 had the six speed like the ones forum member put in his 500... BWaller bike(?)

They might be the same gearbox as those.
