I love the muffler on the blue 400, is that a cone engineering?  Mine has a supertrapp, I had to get a battery and clean carbs and points today so I haven't heard it on  all 4 cylinders yet.

That's just a regular old 19" cone that came with the header pipe I bought.  Maybe a JC Whittney special?

Does anyone know what the stock jet sizes are?  My carbs had 75 mains and 40 pilots. I believe that is stock, so off with the pod filters. I didn't want to remove the pods yet if it had been rejetted for them.

I knew I should have bought the new air cleaner box rubbers. Shockingly, the engine side is pretty soft. The second bike had it's manual and tools. It's nice to have the owners manual in a ziplock bag.
The caliper seal is the same as a 750 BTW.

There was a suzuki X6, I think it was a 6 speed, the first motorcycle I ever got a ride on.

Yes, the X6 was a two stroke twin with a six speed, I had one (wish I still did)

2-stroke with ROTARY VALVES! It was a hotrod!

I really need an exhaust for this thing.

My brother had a story about his belonging to his boss's son. I think he just wanted to ease Mom back into the idea of him having a motorcycle after a bad wreck he had in Japan. If I remember right he took a bus to florida and rode it back.

My wife called today while I was at a friends making another pipe bender on his mill. She wanted to know why I wasn't home working on her new yellow 400F? she wants to ride it while it's warm enough. It's nice she finally got interested in the bikes.
She asked who's is  the red bike by the shop door under the cover? uh, it's the sandcast I bought last year.

Looks like a nice starting place. I'm just buying all the ones in Knovville Il.  L0L. I'll hopefully be riding the yellow one tomorrow.  The carbs are clean and it's got a 3,000 mile tuneup on it. i need to tighten the clamps and put the cables back on.

I watched some video on youtube and saw a couple 400's with finned sidecovers. I wonder where those come from?

Not sure of finned motor cover manufacturer but I  bought one from a forum member for the pink 400 that I have not worked on for a loooooooooooooong time.  House priorities supersede...Larry

These were body sidecovers, they look pretty cool. these could have been in japan. Here's one now. The style of accessories looks Japanese. They add lots of accessories there where most guys here leave them pretty simple.

Took the 400 out for it's first road-legal run yesterday  -  went up to the view-point at East Burra Isle.

Just caught the last of the sun before it started to get dark at 5:00.

Cheers, StClair.

I rode by my neighbors house on the yellow 77 at 9,000 rpm, first gear, second gear, ran out of street and shut her down. He came over and said he had to own it. So long yellow.

I just got off the phone with DSS. I wonder how they knew I was in the US? My 400 parts order was stalled due to a back order. It seems to be on the way now good deal.
I notice all the pics have early or smaller turn signals. I was working on Red tonight to remove the large signals and clean up the front end a little. Nothing permanent yet.

I will try the question in this 350/400 blog.

Are there different cyl jug liners between a 350F and a 400F? Looking at the cruzin image 466cc kit which is 54.5 mm bore. Yet the 350 std bore is 47mm, so 7.5 mm over bore seems too much material to remove.

Any experience or thoughts on the liners of these two motors?

The 350 was first, then they skipped a year before the 400. I assume they made new liners for the 400. The 4mm overbore of the 750/836 is a big cut, I doubt the 350 could take it. That said, I can't say positively.
I wonder if a 400 cylinder/head or entire motor would swap?
