Day 14, I'm getting closer. I have it wired and running. Body is at the painter. I still need to come up with a seat-tail setup. And waiting on a few more parts.

It's alive.

Hahahaha...You guys are funny about the paint and polish.....
The bike has been dubbed "Rattle Can" for now.... you tell me how much paint is going into it ;)

And yes cheap Chinese electronic windscreen....This bike is (for now) a lo-budg experiment at best. Serious effort will be applied in the off season.

Did I mention Rustoleum was my sponsor?

Larry, what items do you feel will deter you from passing tech. Maybe we can all brainstorm on how to correct the deficiencies before you get there. If not, we'll look at it in the pit area. Collective brains, such as they are, should come up with a great plan of action to meet the "letter of the law".

Mostly probably the Exhaust tether/restraint... and maybe chain guard (but I have the stock one).... This bike won't measure up for the way i'd like to build it later and engine will be bone stock so nothing special.... and none matters if the leathers don't show....
Hopefully Samauto will be sorted...
That and this Noobie doesn't want to embarrass the group in any way shape for form.....

none matters if the leathers don't show....

Manufacturer's Cup rules for Street E.T.:

"All riders must have a SNELL 95 or higher full face helmet, shoes above the ankle, leather gloves, and a leather jacket. Any rider running faster than 10.99 must also have leather pants. Pants and jacket are not required to be zipped together. Nylon or textile jackets and pants are not permitted, even if they have pads. All jackets and pants must be made of 100% leather."

So all that is required is a leather jacket and leather gloves for anything slower than 10.99, unless you are holding out for full leathers as a matter of personal safety, which is completely understandable and acceptable.  8)

Those are NzHRA rules Jerry. Like the ones Bill has to comply with at Commerce. The Cup doesn't require restraint devices.

You won't need the exhaust tether at the Man Cup race. As to the chain guard, all my bike have homemade chain guards from flat aluminum stock I bought at Lowes. Cheap and easy to cut to length, make some brackets from the same stock. Drill holes and bolt up. Add a curvature at the sprocket end to match the shape. Get fancy and polish it out really good and you're now legal. As to what the group thinks, who cares?  Lol. Seriously, I personally want to commend you and Dave for making this great effort to get bikes ready to race with us. This event is about comraderie with a splash of racing. Bill will carry our load in the racing department. Its not his first rodeo.

As Wilbur stated, you won't need leathers until you get to a certain ET and MPH. Unless you know something about a stock motor that we don't.

Only if I drop it from an airplane Frank! It's all about the fun of it for me and I do all I can to justify towards my business which just about delivering vintage smiles...
So the good news is a few less things to worry about and few more things got done today including boots and gloves....after Sams ride I'm all about full gear.

In the event that I can actually make it to Valdosta, Is there anyone out there might have a open spot to possibly share a room?

Hot dang, we got us a dragbike!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job man.

I just got one of the last few rooms at the Days Inn in Adele. We stay there cause its much closer to the track than driving into Valdosta and its cheap. Lol. Most of the other guys go to Valdosta.  Might be another available.  I don't think my wife would take too kindly to a 3rd person sleeping in a king size bed with us. Lol.

Hopefully someone in Bills group has an extra bed or at least floor space. Go by Walmart and get one of those cheap folding cots and crash the room. Those guys likely do more partying after the race than sleeping anyway so you mainly need a place to take a shower and shave.
