More expensive but far less headaches in the long run.

I suspect that the jetsrus float valve assy is also keyster.  You will also find that when one place is out of these, almost everywhere is out of stock of them.  They are probably all from one supplier.

Also, that jetsrus assy has no brand associated with it.  When people do that, they want to hide the brand.  Do not mistake keihin "compatible" or for "keihin type" with actual KEIHIN products.

The cheapo assy in the original post I recognize from the shape of the valve, it is the same "made in Japan" part included in the kits sold by "cruzinimage."  They are garbage and I can tell you firsthand.  Some of the springs would actually get stuck in the depressed position right out of the bag.  Don't waste your money on them.

For what it's worth, the keyster valves in my experience work fine and will seal good.  However, on some models like the 350F or 400F the floats aren't made for the slightly longer plunger, so in order to get it similar to OEM you need to tweak the float a bit.

Interesting. Jets-r-us was the one place I found OEM keihin pilot jets for the 76 550F and was happy to have found them. The PO had put after market in two of the carbs and it would never idle or come off idle very well until i replaced them all. Purred like a kitten after that.

Well that is quite possible, what I said was related to the assy and links provided.  A pilot jet is a totally different part.
