CB550 cam chain tensioner fit
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:14:07 AM »
Were there any major changes in the design of the cam chain tensioner in the CB550 motor? I have a '75 K, and there's a '74 tensioner available on eBay. Will it fit? Thanks!

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride. . .

500/550 tensioners are the same.

Don't make a mistake and get a CB650 tensioner - it's ALMOST the same, but not enough to work.

Thanks for the replies. Will be attempting my first top-end job on one of the two 550 motors I have sometime over the winter. I'd hate to open the thing up and find the tensioner in bad shape. Wish me luck.
