rickman 960 cc engine

Hi all,I purchased a 1979 hard tail sohc chop about 10 years ago and its been in my shed all that time,its all 750/4 based but it has a rickman 960 cc big bore engine in it,can anyone give me any info on the rickman engine and has it any great value,its all up and running,thanks..

Never knew that Rickman made engines. Chassis are all I know of. The Rickman CB750 Kits were rolling chassis to which one supplied their own engine. I realize that's not what you have, just talking.

You say the engine is "up and running" Does it actually run?

The problem with our old parts is often not mileage but sheer age. Sitting around for a decade doesn't do any favors to the rubber bits, many of which were probably used when they went in the engine. Which was OK 10 years ago.

Because of this, many prospective buyers wouldn't feel comfortable buying it as is and would discount the price for the inevitable tear down inspection that would ensue. Rickman or otherwise, you'll need some documentation or actual tear down to prove what you've got.
