HELP PLEASE!!!
« on: October 29, 2014, 02:52:18 PM »
Hi all, im trying to sort out the wiring on my cb650 1980 model, I am trying to sort out the running side before looking at the lights etc. the bike was bought as a project but wiring isn't my strong point, firstly the left hand coil has no +/- on in does it matter on this as the right hand one does,  also someone has chopped the wiring on the harness that travels up to the ignition switch and I need to wire the switch with a new multi-plug I cannot find a pin diagram to show which wires go where, can anyone post a picture of the wiring going onto the ignition switch multiplug so I can see the position of the wire to correctly position the wires please

Take your time and get familair with the diagram one wire at a time.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

as was mentioned,
take your time,
one wire at a time,
make sure there are no bare wires, or power directly to ground,
and the next thing you know, you are done.

If you want to test to see if two ends of a wire are connected, use an inexpensive multimeter or a battery and a test lamp.
Alligator clips are a great way to find out what goes where without making it permanent.
They can be bought or they can be made.  It is easy.

Good Luck.
Again, take your time.
