1970 CB175 K4 Throttle action
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:02:15 AM »
I'm having a hell of a time getting things working properly again.  During dissassembly, I pulled off the throttle cable (completely, at both the handle & carbs ends), cleaned the carbs, did a zillion other things on the bike and now I'm reassembling everything.  I put the throttle cable back on, reattaching at the handle and then reattached to the carbs.  But now the action doesn'tseem to be working.  I twist and nothing happens until the end of the action (WOT) then the slides start to move.  I don't see any adjustment to speak of (just a little at the top of the carb body, but not nearly enough to solve my problem) and I reassembled with everything that was originally on it.  Any thoughts?

About the only thing I can think of is maybe the cable has slipped out of its groove on the throttle drum.

Cables aint in slides properly, or, you have left slide in right carb (and vice versa) I think I have a set somewhere to look at, if I can find them easy I'll check

Whoa, the slides are R/L handed?  I guess I didn't know that, but the carbs are so it makes sense.  I'll have to check to see if there's any differences between the slides or just swap them over and see what happens.  The cable looks to be symmetrical, but looks can be deceiving - is the cable R/L handed also?
