:PIt's been three years since the breakup and auction of ENTEK, and now the bits acquired or absconded with are whittled down to a 4 axis dekel maho, a Big giant hitache, surface grinder and sunnen hone, morei saki lathe, band saw, along with a few other 300 lb. things.

Cut to the chase, situation two was not working out so it is the third time in as many years to move the sh8.

My back is feeling like it, up with the coffee and bouncing off the walls ready to meet the real movers in four hours. Can't wake anybody. We need someone younger to do this sh8.

Freakin' backbreaker first. After the crew showed up holding a camera steady is still workish but not heavy metal. Got a bunch of long shots. Cinema Verite. I like to get when the hydraulics start creaking real loud.

Regular height garage doors suck for this stuff. Here is the process of raising the machine outside the building and backing the truck under. Lift truck doesn't go past where they stopped the concrete six inches from the overhead door. Always project into the future...tall wide garage door with lots of paved approach.

The guys were apprehensive about the other place of delivery. I reassured them they had no width and height problems unloading and pavement outside.

Probably edit some of this stuff together. I kind of like long shots with jump cuts though.

I guess this is the third computer numeric caravan migration in two years.

The guys we got in to do it were quick and friendly. We're hoping the next move transaction is long in the future and have nothing to do with us.

I did kind of hold on to this shot for a bit.

Probably best to right click the pic and open in a new tab or direct click and wait for photobucks slow down load, I filled up my account from 2 to 85 percent with all 20 or so and it took hours.

It all happened so fast, the beljer guys just happened to answer yeah, tomorrow we can fit you in; the little green fork truck is in dispute; There may be a custody battle over it.

I made him quite sure that I was taking a few pictures, mostly because it is a chance to show how smooth things can go.

That shop had bought a lathe that was dropped after they agreed to buy it, then decided not to. Agreement was they brought the trailer and seller load. After they dropped it, deal was off, ha ha. They were there to see it, but he never acknowledged if there were pics, so I guess it didn't happen .

They had put Kermit behind a big truck, or we were going to just load it without a key. We would have picked it up with the big fork if he didn't block it in.

Anyone get red flags from photobucket? I always thought they were fairly legit but I had a security warning pop up once, but only once. I know they pack the ads in.

The phase perfect converter is ordered and might take over a week.

We need to find a line of products or special orders that might be in demand here and elsewhere, Any suggestions? The 350f top triple seems to be a weak link on the stock bikes.

This got set down on rollers and eventually needed to go a little ways to where it will stay for a while. I'm not real sure what all you can do with it. Maybe 754 has used one. I know a smaller one can be used to grind float needle valves. It does very precise work.

The height adjustment must have thousands of turns. Easy to pinch yourself spinning it down all the way.

It was a pretty interesting move, one of the skates came off and we had to pry one corner along on blocks.

This showed up finally. I think it's a phase perfect that will power the whole shop at the same time. I think an electrician will be out tomorrow.

Power to the people.

Here's the next big chunk of the Benefactor's change, signed sealed delivered it's yours. Tough sh8 if you didn't inspect for freight damage before the delivery person left is the apparent policy. This is a Phase Perfect brand, practical machinist says it's what you want, and I know very little about it. It's 30 hp and can power up everything and I'll go out on a limb to say it will do it all at the same time.

The plan was that the electrician would start doing tonight, but the plan B electrician says done within two weeks, so it's back to the Plan A guy who might do it sooner. Either way, She (B) showed up and the place for mounting the thing has been determined, so one step at a time.

This is our semi-annual fund drive, so keep the cards, letters and spools of heavy gauge wire coming.

Well the thing is airborn, I was powering up the phone to get a pic of the block and tackle we rigged up to pull it up the wall, but my hands got full. I guess it weighs close to 200lbs.

It will power the Hitachi, and I guess the other machines have their own systems which will be on the wall of power. The lathe runs on one that makes a racket, buzzing and whirring loud.

Supposedly the phase perfect sounds like a loud computer disc download, but we'll see. The box was installed when the place was built is 200 amp. The old man was wondering why bother with that much power, but it's actually just enough. The pp has a variable breaker on it. Will learn more as stuff happens with the electrician.

Okay, we're cussing electricians by now, and had to send some things out that could be done here, but plugging away.

The wall of power is taking shape. I guess the phase perfect won't power everything but it's going to do a couple.

We have the breaker box which will bring in about 200 amps, I think is what it was rated at. The old man wondered why bother with that much power years ago, and now we know.

The Phase perfect is going to put out 240 three phase, and that will be fine for the hitachi, lathe, mill and most anything else. The trouble is the Dekel is German, and Europeans have different ideas when it comes to power. Therein lies the problem. So the small box is makes a jump from 240 to 480, and another box drops it down to 380 which is what the dekel runs on. Simple as pie. That is the box that will sit on the brackets, and so it does now. Heavy little unit..

The wall of power is slowly comming together, and the electricians are no help so far. I think the breaker box is going to have twice as many breakers when all this is done.

I think there will be five drops, all running through conduit, one to each machine running from the center of the roofline.

Plenty of lenghts and elbows of different angles, but we'll probably still have to go back to a Locke. We don't really like them but have to deal with it.

The two CNC machines need a total of about 80 feet of conduit to reach them.

This thing needs replaced, or is replaced. It's noisy but it's working to power the lathe for now. Once things are wired up it will be up on the auction or craigslist, but you saw it here first. It runs a good sized machine and you need it, so take it off our hands.

I had a rotophase by Delta.. Could run three machines at once.. Worked well
I have two machines that are 550 or 480 volt stepped down to our 220.

We're depending on the kinds of strangers we actually know to figure it all that stuff out. I guess most the conduit is hung, no runs over 100 ft is what I glean.

Sorry I missed reading the thread for a while, would have responded earlier.
Don't fool around near a rotophase with a cover off.. From the instructions I read, those capacitors can nearly kill you if you touch them and get zapped.
