CB500 Handlebar Replacement
« on: October 25, 2014, 08:02:32 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm replacing my handlebars with euro bars and I'm having a very difficult time getting the right control back on.  The throttle cable attaches to this plastic piece that goes over the bars.  Within the right control there's a piece of medal that sticks out which makes it impossible to slide the bar through.

What is the order of operations here?  I don't remember how I took them off.  I should have taken more notes/pictures.  Right now I'm incredibly frustrated- my own fault.  And I'm stuck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Here are some pictures of what I"m working with.

The numb on the right switch is what is causing issues.

You can use small vice grip or pliers and pull that tiny little piece of metal off, or drill hole on the bar

Drill the hole into the bar. If you have trouble finding the correct place to drill, measure from your OEM bars.

Also, the left and right side are not the same so measure each individually.

I've cut it off, it's really not necessary.
