I somehow managed to bang up my right hand ring finger so progress has slowed down quite a bit. Wanted to get something "light" ot of the way so got back to the VIN. Went to ACE and picked up flat rivets in 1/8", perfectly snug fit on a 7/64" drilled out holes. The fun part was drilling a 1/16" hole straight through the half way solid rivet without a drill press and a busted finger. I get to brag as I managed it fine freehand :P Then I held them up in my vise and filed down the flat head to 0, basically the heads fell off like super thin washers. Hammared them into the frame flush with a narrow tip drift to avoid hitting the frame.

Curved the new tag on a 1-1/2" PVC pipe this time, curve is MUCH better when hugging the frame this time, full flush contact. Drove in the proper sized rivets with a drift again, this is done. Pix would have explained things a lot better, but I'm struggling to overcome the laziness this time around :P

@Frank: Love and admire your experience, jealous too ;D thanks for the idea, even with my modification it worked perfectly.

haha, I knew the boxes would be misleading :P Those are the boxes in which the yami gas tanks arrived, but right now these two are outgoing, its the top end headed out to JMR. Just gotta let this finger heal up a bit so I can get the final box ready then take them all at once.


Pretty much still bumming because of this stupid injury so took on something I've been meaning to do for a while. After trying to get rid of this seat for free and failing, I decided to just save it and build my custom one at home, or at least a large chunk of it. I definitely won't be able to make a cover at home. Carefully took off the cover which was held down surprisingly well with hot glue gun crap! Everything after that was a nightmare. Three different kinds of foam stuck badly to the base and to each other. Took some work but I managed to peel it all off.

Took off all the rubbers and other things attached to the pan, then spent most of the evening just scraping the stuck crap off. There is still a ridiculous amount of spray glue underneath that I'm having trouble getting rid of, any ideas how to clean it up? I don't need it to be perfect, just enough so that the rest can be blasted off without much hassle. Pan is in good shape otherwise, just two very minor bends that will straighten out in the vise.

Admittedly, I've never tried to do this so it's just a guess...but how about using a heat gun on the bottom of the seat pan until the glue starts to become pliable again (or even liquid) and then using a scraper to get it off?

So I grabbed the last billet 125-65 Megacycle made (at least until their next batch, which may not happen unless 200 orders are placed).

Goodies from Frank arrived! Gotta widen the smaller holes and get the awesome finned engine mount coated. Patiently waiting for the chain oiler bolt next :) :) Thanks for these Frank!

Picked up the rest of the bits today, dropped of the seat pan and the finned motor mount. Engine covers arrived from Bill, took them straight to the machine shop for blasting. If I get them back tomorrow, will tape them all up and drop them off on Monday.

Thanks Don, but that's not a matte black. I initially wanted it all to be matte, but quickly shied away from it because on larger pieces it started looking too charcoaly and various shades of brown in different lightings. I love this particular one (Black Magic) because it applies smooth yet has less than 5% gloss rating. I had to use good lights and a flash to take those pix, its pretty stealthy, which is what I want. The frame underneath is the stock color matched 55% gloss Paccar Black that should shine just a little bit from behind these larger pieces. Hopefully it will look good in the end.

Plus you know, finned pieces look good too for that added HP and some thrust vectoring :P :P :P

Just the levers that fit into existing MC and LHS controls. I'll admit I haven't done much searching on the topic yet, was hoping someone knows.

I've never had dog legs, I prefer polished stock. But they supposedly help someone that has small hands or make it easier to pull in on a bike with a heavy clutch.

I do love the look of the ones I polished for the K2, but I just don't like keeping it up. Chrome is a good lazy option ;D I can live with the dog leg style, I've got big hands but it doesn't bother me. I'm thinking these with the highest rise renthals with bar ends and progrip two color grips should do it.

Final bits for the PC shop almost ready, still gotta mask up the tappet cover threads and crank drain cap threads. One final wipe down with acetone, then drop off.

The finned cap for the dip stick came in, looks half decent polished, but not quite as good a finish though.
