Newbie from Tasmania
« on: October 29, 2014, 02:28:40 AM »
G'day Everyone!

I'm the proud owner of a 1976 CB750 F1. I've been looking for an F1 for a long time and had all stars align for me about a year ago when I came across this one. I really admire the creativity of the café racer style, but I am an original at heart. However, I think you are all artists and I look forward to tapping into your wisdom as I begin to build my own knowledge.

Look forward to speaking with you all.

Cheers

Thanks Guys!

754 - I'll keep my eyes open for that one.

Retro Rocket - Blackmore, named after a type of fish I used to own. Good pick up with the F2 paint. When I purchased the bike I thought (and still do think) the colour looked awesome. I was bewildered as to why a new F1 fuel tap wouldn't fit, and even more confused when I read a few posts on this forum about the factory colours in 1976. Now a light bulb has illuminated in my head!

What are your thoughts on the current colour scheme? I'm a bit bummed it isn't the original colour scheme, but do like the look of it.

A welcome from NSW. I'd stick with the paint, it's too nice a job to change it. You could look around for another tank and seat assembly and paint it an original colour, then its easy to swap them over if you feel like a change. Then, if you find an F2 like I did, you'll already have good set for it.
