Best Fram.  Isn't that a contradiction?  I use a NAPA which is made by WIX and available locally for about $4.  I don't remember the part number.

CH 6009

almost unbeleivably, these filters do not appear to be made much differently than the same model emgo... and there is no valving in a cartridge-type filter, so weak bypass seals are not present... i have used it in a pinch because a certain chain auto store carries it and is open 7 days a week...

personally, i prefer hiflow...

OK I admit that I have used the 6009 for the Honda only because of the reasons Honda CBer stated.  I really can't tell the difference between any brand I have used.  I have a feeling that the cartridge filters are all cranked out of the same factory.

I still would never use a spin on Fram.

They may (and do) come rom the same factory, only one or another brand may have a little more paper in it, or some other ingredient.  i.e. they may be made to different specs.

I thought everyone would get a kick out of this:  I've been trying to get an oil filter for my '76 CB750 locally here in KY.  The Yamaha shop said no dice, all autoparts stores said they needed a cross-reference #.  I thought I was going to have to order one and wait x amount of days (or weeks).  Well, I was at Wal-Mart the other day and noticed that they now have a very small motorcycle section, wherein there is a small stack of Fram oil filters and a laminated application guide hanging from a chain.  So I looked at the guide and although I don't think it specifically listed a '76 CB 750K, found that the correct filter should be a CH6009.  To my amazement, there on the shelf, for a mere $3.92, is a stack of about a dozen of them!  What a time we are in when you can't get a part for your motorcycle at a motorcycle dealer/repair shop but you CAN get it when you go to Wal-Mart at 9PM to get some ice cream... ::)

Now i know its not a great recommendation but Fram do make all the Motocraft/ford filters --- at least here in UK they do, so if uncle henry is happy they cant be all that bad, just remember to change regularly, if you do what i do and change EVERY oil change not alternate ones as Honda state i cant see any problem

Ok, i read the mans comments on Fram, the only opinion i have is that i never had a problem with one, having said that you dont see fram motorcycle filters here in UK--or at least i havent.
Considering the fact that i change twice as often as spec'd and do little miles i will carry on buying from Dave Silver at 5 for £10 plus tax and shipping

That sure shows alot about spin-on filters, but as mentioned before, the Fram cartridge filters seem comparable to their competitors.
