new harness connector
« on: November 02, 2014, 11:17:44 AM »
We'll see if I made a mistake, but I'm replacing the blade quick connectors with all Deutsch style connectors.  Something that is waterproof, easy to find, and makes a good secure connection.

I'll have to do extensive rewiring at the panel, but the original harness was shot to pieces anyway.  I was not expecting to find any, but these are all rated for 14 gauge wire - more than enough.

Post some pics and list what parts you used. I was thinking of cutting all the ends off my rewired 550f and making custom plug connectors to clean up the wiring instead of having a spaghetti ball in the light housing. Not sure if I really want to go that way, but I had to tear the harness apart that I bought at partsnmore because practically NONE of the colors matched the oem harness. This lead to me tracing almost every wire and consulting diagrams to make sure I wasn't screwing it up.
