I day dream constantly about riding the Calif coast, trekking across Europe and so forth, but the logistics of doing so is not easy.  There are places that rent bikes out there. I've searched around at bike rental places across Europe on numerous occasions, all modern bikes for rent of course.  It'd be a niche market curtailing to classic bike enthusiast, but there's customers for it I'm sure.

I was offered once to give my bike details to a movie props company. They have a database so they can rent your bike in case they need one like yours when shooting a film. I thought about it for a moment but then I thought that once you get the money they will use the bike just as an armchair, having no care for it, relying on their insurance in case the bike gets damaged. But my bike is unrestored and therefore impossible to replace. So you won't see my bike on the screen anytime soon.

I am working with a Vintage Vehicle Movie Props Company.  The pay you $300 a day and feed you while you are there. You stay with the bike and you ride it,  if it is a long shot or just a part of passing traffic.

Gotta say this is going to the top of the list.  Getting paid to ride my CB750 what can be better than that.  Love the out of the box ideas.  Keep em coming.  This one is going to be hard to top though.  :D

I could be an extra on 'Walking Dead' and they wouldn't even need to use make-up.  This is how you end up working on too many carbs for too many years   ;D

That picture reminded me of the spanish undertaker who has recently been dismissed because of this picture

Turned out that one old woman died and was going to be put into the niche where his late husband was put 20-something years ago. The normal procedure is that the undertaker opens the niche and push the remains to the botton to make room for the new coffin.

The undertaker found out the man was momified and called the niece -the only relative alive- to let her see the curious thing. See arrived with his husband at the spot, and decided it would be cool to have a picture with the mummy of his dead uncle. So they asked the undertaker to hold the mummy while the husband posed and the niece shot the picture, to be put later on the internet.

It spread like wildfire for obvious reasons. And the one who got the spanking was the poor undertaker who did nothing but to try to be helpful...

Thanks Eric,

I love it.  I was considering building and 836 ice boat this winter to help pass the time, but this might work as well.

I have ridden them but do not own one. Have some friends who do. They are fun and can fill a need for speed.
Here is one for you Steve, may be a friend of RB  from Northern Michigan.

How stable are they?  I would think stock length forks may not be enough trail.  I would not want those skis to stop and me to fly over the handlebars.

Think I would rather have the other one.  Engine and frame don't which means it is not that collectable.  Funny thing is these have to be much more rare than sandcast as I rarely if ever see them for sale.  What does a restored one go for anyway?

Engine and frame numbers never match and are much different unlike our Hondas.
They are rare and I want one, an original unrestored one recently sold on ebay for $17K.

This one is not original even though the seller thinks it is [wheels and exhaust]

Booking a business/pleasure trip to Orlando in February and the only thing I can find to rent is a Harley. Most Harley dealers rent bikes but I couldn't find anything else. Granted my buddy that lives there was looking for me but he reports only Harleys. I'm not really a cruiser or bagger type but a V-rod may be fun. Still looking if anyone has any ideas.

I'd rather rent a Triumph.

Lord knows where we will end up.
The plan is to ride to the Daytona 500 on Feb 22 and then fly home on the 23rd. Not really a Nascow fan but I am there the week before so what the hell.

You'll be there during Speed Week, I'd book that bike now.  Even if you are not a Nascar fan, seeing 43 cars going around the high banked Daytona track at 200 MPH is something you will never forget.
