I have a busted, beat-up stock throttle that I would like to replace with my Yamaha R1 throttle. However, I can't swap in the OEM throttle cables and the Yamaha cables aren't the right lengths. Is there an easy way to use a non-stock throttle?

Is the R1 throttle sleeve inside or exexternalthere are aftermarket throttle assemblys

You can make your own - or alternate stock cables.  I done it for R6 controls I use on my K0.

You cut the sleeve to the length and shorten the cable and solder new end on it.

If its just a plastic throttle tube those are fairly cheap and easy to get.

The R1 throttle tube is larger diameter and will "quicken" the throttle and needs longer inner cables. I modified a Motion Pro housing on my racebike to use an R1 tube. I found the Motion Pro cables (pull cable #01-0233, push # 01-0234) worked perfectly with my Mikuni smoothbores. I think they would work with Keihins as well.
