Dreamt this up late this morning, had one made by coffee time..
Rough, quickie first off.. But shows how it will look..

That looks great Frank! Your timing is great too! I was just about to start asking around for a stock mount to replace this ugly thing that came with my K3. This will be perfect with finned covers.

Bill I think he has a hiway peg mount..

Its been brought. To my attention that someone already makes the these, but I had no knowledge of that.

These ones are 5/8 or 3/4 thick..not sure about the other they look thinner.
At this point, trying to see how much interest there is in these..

I like the concept of what you have done but my OCD has kicked in a bit. I have to ask. When mounted does the angle of the ribs in the mount end up parallel to the engine fins? This to me has always been an issue with finned points and clutch covers. I have never seen any finned covers manufactured with the fins lined up with the fins on the engine.

They are in line with engine.. 90 degrees to the front frame downtube.

I prefer not to work with steel, for a few reasons.
One being aluminun alloys can be left as is without plating. Plating can be a hassle.
I think most bike parts should be lighter, and stronger than stock parts. In the case of motormounts, they may weigh around the same as stock, but be much stiffer.
The lighter weight thing was important on the frame kits I built, I find it hard to add weight to a hopefully high performance bike, a step in the wrong direction it seems.

Did you happen to whip up the other triangular mount Frank? The one that is slightly longer and has a hole in the center (hole doesn't need to be there). Would love to see how the fins look on that one...

Don't think the fins would work well with a Centre hole.
But I have been thinking.. How about a cover that covers the whole stock setup, that is smooth (or finned) with radiused edges that is holding thru the center hole, mostly hidden on the backside..?

That would also work, and eliminate the need to cut standard sized bolts a few mm to match the OEM odd lengths....

Probably. Around 60.00 with a brushed finish, they would be thick, like the other motor mounts I did..

Can't carve them out manually. At a rate I can make money on them unless I simplify. Them somewhat, which probably means. They won't straddle the frame mount holes. Plus the K and F, are two separate designs.
However it looks like I may work with someone soon with a small CNC, that may be good for that part.
It's a smallish, lowdollar part that is small in numbers, so it's hard to get them CNC,d without out a better grade lump of cash thrown at it.. So still may happen..
