Classifieds Site For Cafe Bikes
« on: November 07, 2014, 11:13:16 PM »
Hi All,

I'm putting together a classifieds site for cafe racers or really any any pre-80's model bikes that may fall in or close to the cafe realm. The website is http://cafeclassifieds.com. I'm hoping to get some feedback from anyone really and what would be even better is if you could try and post something and let me know the experience. This is obviously more of the rough mockup stage but the more feedback the better!

Thanks guys!  :D

As already seen on ebay with the "cafe" keyword used on anything even remotely related, how do you decide what is appropiately cafe and what is not? ....Safari will not open your link.
If it works good, it looks good...

Good question and I thought about that when I got the idea, essentially I don't want it to be solely "cafe" stuff but the word itself gives an identity to the type of stuff people might want to look for. By calling it "cafe" I assume the people looking would have some kind of pre-80's bike that they could use an array of different parts on, however, by calling it "cafe" it weeds out those looking for, say, chopper parts or dirtbike parts..if that makes sense. My biggest issue with craigslist is that it's regionalized, meaning if I need one specific part and the person who has it isn't in my county, I'll never find it.

I think I see where you are going with this, but maybe just classify it as vintage parts in general...for example, is a Henry Abe breadbox a cafe part or a chopper part?  is a set of Betor forks a cafe part or a dirtbike part? etc etc.  But hey, the more sources the merrier.  Plus, I hate dealing with the hassle of ebay...

Very true, good points Sean. I'll do some rewording and try and make it a bit more broad, however, the domain name is going to have to stay the same  ;D
