Mikuni TMR32 experiences? Yoshi MJN version much better?
« on: November 06, 2014, 04:03:33 AM »
Any experiences of Mikuni TMR32 carbs on a CB750?
Preferable with air filter when the bike is used for city driving, touring as well as insipired throttling excercises when possible.
- Smooth idle and city driving without any hesitation or fouling plugs is a must.
- Is Yoshi version much better? It cost a lot but jetting carbs that consume time is worth some too.

I have seen that TMR32 can be ordered with stacks/ adapters for pods. Yoshi version I do not know, maybe stacks only.

32mm is an upgrade for my engine, 836cc with ported head using 34mm inlet valves, hotter cam.

I'm getting very tired in my attempts to make my VM29 smoothbores to run perfect from idle to full. Dry, clean idle without fouling plugs or hesitation when slowly accelerate in the city AND NO lean at 1/4-2/3 lift that fried my belowed forged RC836 pistons and all 4 con rods back in 1984-(back to std carbs which ran very fine the other years.) All is difficult to achieve. I'll try some combinations more. >:(   Time for plan B $$$$$$  ::)

I bought my set through a fella in Georgia.....I do not think he is in business anymore though Jim French would know for sure. Allens Performance in England lists them as do other European dealers. You can source them out of Japan as well. They are not available in the USA as far as I know.
They are pretty pricey....probably around 2,000.00 with the air filter adapters.
The slide movement is beautiful. FCR's have rollers built into the slides. The TMR have rollers built into the carb bodies. They also have a choke (fuel enrichment) circuit which the FCR's do not.

We have here in Sweden too. 14.400 SEK (about $2000US)
with stacks or adapters for KN filters.

Here a very nice setup on a CB750!

My engine would LOVE 32mm carbs.

Only question is if the TMR throttle mechanism work direct with existing throttle cables that I have used with OEM carbs and now Mikuni VM29.

More I think about this, cheaper it gets.  ::)

I think there is a friend of mine out if California that does the same thing.
I can ask if he might have a set

A brand new set of 29's sold on e-bay for over $2000, so a new set of 32's at $2000 would be a deal [ plus shipping and wait thru customs. ] = same main jet sizes as 29's- 33's ?????
