Dang cat
« on: November 09, 2014, 03:32:16 AM »
Little rugrat brought me a mouse tonight.  And by tonight I mean 2 am.  It was alive and well too!  Spent the better part of an hour chasing that little sucker all around the house.  My cat was enjoying the chase, but otherwise not actually contributing.  Finally cornered it and sadly killed it.  Would have preferred to trap and release it back outside, but it just wasn't going to happen.  Besides, my cat would have inevitably caught it and brought it back in anyway.

I'm assuming it came from outside, but I think I'll spend tomorrow scouring the house - I don't want to deal with a nest.  I live in the country, this is just something I have to deal with.

Please post pictures of your cat  for us. Must look glorious. :D

I have been there. One of my cats caught one and he played till it is dead. I tried to get the mouse off of him as I am not into watching the torture/gore but was not possible.
Later on I found body parts of the mouse under a desk. I picked it up and cleaned the area. Then I found a puke paddle with some more body parts. It was nasty.

Nothing so gross, it wasn't moving very quickly which is probably why I was able to catch it.

It is 4 in the morning where I am, I've given up on sleeping the rest of the morning.  I'm sorry about the mouse, and I'm not really mad at my cat - he's just doing what comes naturally to him.  I had a bit of heartburn from dinner, so I wasn't sleeping too well anyway.

Little worried though, he took up patrol in the living room looking for more, which makes me think that he may not have brought it in. :-\

I don't know if you have deer mice in your part of the world; here Hanta virus is a serious concern. It kills people.

My daughters cat catches birds regularly.  Last month I saw the cat in the garage with a bird in mouth, chased him out, made him release the bird and it flew off. Surprised me as I thought it was dead.

I watched our cat playing with a mouse.  Then all of a sudden it picked it up by the head, crunched it once (heard the noise) then tossed it up like a seal tosses a fish and swallowed it whole in 1 go. I wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't of seen it..

Our cat puked on the kids bed once, when my wife was cleaning it up suddenly there was a baby rabbit face in the puke looking at her.

That's what our labrador does, only he killes them dead and eats them beak and all.
