Brass tarnish after cleaning

Cleaned a set of Keihin jets and needles yesterday, but the end result leaves them tarnished.  Is this going to be an issue?

Shouldn't be a problem. A little tarnish is no big deal, but corrosion would be.
Got some ammonia in the house? Give 'em a little bath, they'll shine right up.

OK, giving them a little bath in ammonia. Will report back whether they are sh!te and briney, or I'll live with the patina!  ;D ;D

A possibility I guess, but I didn't really want to use any abrasive material, regardless of how fine it may be.

I always use cleaning vinegar, doesn't make my eyes water as much as ammonia  >:(

I should have been a tad more specific....I'm using cloudy ammonia, readily accessible at many places here as a general purpose cleaner. 20g/litre concentration in the bottle.  Not so eye-watering!  ;D

Shine isn't really important, but that said a little 0000 steel wool will clean up the needles without having any material impact on the size.

Toothpaste is hardly abrasive if at all. Wettened cigar ash is also good, preferably Havana quality. :)

I knew that would work.  :)

If you ever use "Brasso" brass polish you'll notice that it's mostly ammonia mixed with a mild abrasive.
