Greetings from the Great White North
« on: November 07, 2014, 08:20:43 PM »
New to the SOHC bikes and just started a restoration on a 73 CB 350F as a new challenge.

I have previously specialized mostly in the DOHC 1980's CB 900's and 1000's. Still focus mostly on these bikes, yet wanted to try something slightly different when the little 350 presented itself recently.

I am sure I will have some questions as I go along. The bike is completely apart other than the engine at this point. I plan to restore to stock colour and setup less the 4 into 4 exhaust as the bike came with a new MAC 4 into 1.

I am located close to Toronto in Canada and as it is close to winter here, I have the bike in the basement to continue the restoration over the winter.

I have spent some time going through your site and it is top notch with tons of valuable information. What a difference the Internet has made in allowing the quick and detailed exchange of ideas, expertise and connections that would never happen without the work of everyone involved.

Cheers,

David

Welcome David.

Glad you joined.  We have some thing in common.

I am in Stratford, Ontario, not too far away from you, and have a 74 350F.  Mine needs some work, as it has been sitting, but I got it cleaned up a bit this summer, but not running yet.  I hope to sneak a few parts into the basement this winter to clean and polish, and get into a carb rebuild.

Great site here, hope you enjoy.

Email me if you need some help with anything.
I'm quite handy at wiring :)

Hi David and welcome!

I'm N-E of Toronto (near Uxbridge) and I also have a 1974 CB350F.  Since you mentioned the DOHC 900/1000, if you are interested I have a 1981 DOHC CB750F that I was previously advertising.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and great to hear from some local riders too.

Lots of projects on the go currently. I have the 350 all apart in my basement and repainted the frame and installed two new tires. I am just rebuilding the brakes and was able to find a complete graphics package from a Canadian supplier.

Will post more info in the correct section once I see how the picture thing works as I have some before and current project shots saved.

Doing a top end rebuild on a CB 1000 motor that has a leaky exhaust valve. Just working on getting that one inside too before the snow really flies.
