« on: November 06, 2014, 02:19:09 PM »
Hi
Im putting this Japanese model 400f 1976 back together and have no idea how you secure the rear(closest to the front seat) of the fuel tank!
I cant find anyschematics on bike bandit. It was not there when I removed the tank a few months ago!

There is an  Ebay seller who has remade the rubber hold down.  I bought one a year ago but no longer have the info.

The CMSNL image is nice. The block attaches to the frame, you can see the visible long side has a gap below the top. The tank rear has an open rectangular box section sticking down that fits into the rectangular groove on top of the block, and a metal tab sticking out toward the seat: you pull the rubber bar above that gap back and over the tab on installing the tank. It's a pain to pull it back over the tab again for removing the tank, particularly when the rubber is cold.
