I passed up a 400T tonight, $400 but it was missing sidecovers, seat, most of the exhaust, tank dented and rusted. It did start and idle however. The same guy that owned my first 400F, that was enough to send me on my way.

Wise decision Don.   I can't wait for Saturday-probably the most excited I've been in anticipation of a new bike purchase...Larry

Hope you get a few warm days before doom and gloom totally sets in to get some seat time on that bad boy.  Definitely over here in Michigan for the foreseeable future.

32 In Texas???  When I was in San An I don't think it ever went below 90

I ride year around as long as the temp is in the upper 20s with no precipitation in the forecast.  Only 5 miles to work so that makes it a bit easier on the old bones...Larry

"Global warming" sure is COLD isn't it?   ;D
It has been below 25 here every morning for the past week with highs coming close to 50. (High desert, 5,000')

Well the Katana was delivered late Saturday morning,  I then had to go to work, then Sunday, then Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Friday. .   I have not had a chance to ride due to the snow and cold(and no tags but that rarely has stopped me) nor have I had daylight to take photos, which will come as I know I need them to prove it actually happened...  Larry

I bet that's kind of frustrating, Larry.  Got a new toy and you can't go out and play!

Looks like a beautiful bike, looking forward to a full ride report.

Single digits every morning for the past week with highs getting close to 40. We don't make the pity pot news though. ;)
BTW, it is called Winter and it happens just about this time every year. Why is it NEWS??? Some new epiphany?
When are stupid people going to learn to plan for it and not have to leave the house except for work?

Eric, I understand denial, but its not a defense, nor has it any scientific basis, we have had over 300 climate based records broken here in 4 years, 3 of the last 4 years have been the hottest on record and this year is miles ahead already, usually its taken hundreds of years for these anomalies to happen here, not all in a 5-10 year span. If 98% of the worlds experts told you the plane you were about to board was going to crash, would you still get on it...?  Its not real hard to do a little research and find out exactly whats happening. One of the worlds leading deniers, American physicist Richard Muller and a whole heap of others including the Koch brothers, staunch right wing deniers,  are coming around, Muller has already jumped ship and plenty are following him after intensive unbiased studies, even some denier funded studies are proving the opposite, not many deniers of any note left actually. Climate change is happening, the only argument now is how much we have to do with it, looking at recent statistics {not hypotheticals or modeling} tend to suggest that we are, at no time in recorded history, including all the deep ice shelf studies going back millions of years, has the climate changed so fast. These statistics are readily available if you are serious about having an informed opinion... ;)

I think Eric - 750cafe was talking about the change of seasons - you can step down from your soap box now.

BACK ON TOPIC

One of the few imperfections :(

More photos to come, having an awful time with photobucket and my computer.

Got home from work late this afternoon and tried to start the monster but battery was way low so it is on my smart charger.  Off tomorrow but I am attending a funeral but I should have time to put the battery back in and hopefully the extra juice will fire her up....Larry

Thanks, here is the other imperfection,  don't know how I missed it when I went to look but it wouldn't have mattered.  Think I am infatuated with the bike ;D

Great engines in those bikes Larry, same as my old GSXR1100, just slightly detuned for more torque and less revs, bullet proof...
