Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Pretty, congratulations, Larry!

When I make it up to PA again I will try to bribe you to let me take her for a short spin  ;)

Look forward to it, and you would be welcome to ride

Thank you.  Sounds like a plan for the spring  ;D

Buddy of mine had a Seca xj650...was a nice little motor, but the shaft drive made for some awful handling...the thing had like 130,000 miles on it when he sold it running fine, never gave him any trouble.  I think the 750's were chain drive.  There is also a rare xj750 Seca Turbo.

I'm pretty sure the Yamaha turbo was a 650, not a 750. The Kawasaki GPZ turbo was a 750.

thanks, I had no interest at all in buying a Suzuki but I saw it on CL and had to go look at it. Rest is history.

I am not too far behind you in the aging department but it is your age/experience that will keep you alive.  ;)

I told my wife some 20 years ago, while pointing to one of my creations, that "If I had this bike before we were married, we not only would not have three wonderful children,
I would not be alive."
I have built quite a few FUN toys in the past 25+ years and so far, none of them has hurt me. Wisdom is worth quite a bit towards a long life.

Dangerous, smangerous ::) Bill.

I got the bike a week ago and finally got to ride it.  Attempted to start a couple days ago but the battery was too low, so I charged it and tried again yesterday-no luck.  Put the battery back on the charger and tried today-no dice.
I wanted to drain the float bowls(can't tell you how many  bikes that have been sitting that have been fixed by simply draining the bowls of bad gas)  but the screws are practically impossible to get at so I removed the tank(that is a pain in the butt to get gnarly old fingers  in the little space).  Found #1 plug cap loose and #4 plug fouled, cleaned the plugs and checked the bike for loose nuts and bolts(found loose chain and a reflector about to fall off).  Started right up after reassembly, let it warm up and rode around the block, came home put on helmet, gloves and jacket but no pants(riding that is ::)) and took off into the barely above freezing climate. (probably shouldn't mention that or another global warming war might start)

Rode for a hour-came back all warm inside

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D describes the bike.  Holy rocket ship Batman- at 7000rpm this thing kicks butt.   New favorite bike BTW, it replaces my ex-favorite, which is a model I won't mention...Larry

and the "little"  550s and 750s too.  And, of course........................................................................................my little S32 :P :P

And all their dirt bikes.   I never realized how well made the Suzuki motorcycle line was made until I worked  in a Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki dealership back in the early 80s.

How does that bike handle(I know,I know it's icy outside)Larry ?

Not icy but cold and as far as I'll ever press a bike at 67 it is smooth, responsive and light handling for a 550 pound bike.  Oh yea, and fast

They tend to be in their "sweet zone" between 3,500-7,000 rpm where the torque curve is basically flat and the HP curve hits at about 5,500.

What I like is the bike is somewhat tame considering all the HP.  I mean there was no radical surge as far as I pressed the bike on my initial ride that would get one in tons of trouble.  I  had been looking for a CB1100f but this totally quashes that.
